For many years, my husband Tom and I talked about creating a
collaborative book of his poetry and my art.
This book, Poems from the Fields of Dharma,
came to fruition in 2014..... Noël
PASSAGE TO INNER PEACE
Poems from the Fields of Dharma, like most mystical poetry, both articulates and evokes profound transformation. Thomas Reidy began writing these poems In 1975 to chronicle changes he experienced while struggling to understand his life circumstances. When he was eight, he lost his father to suicide, leaving him without a sense of purpose. In his early thirties, he realized that his mission in life was to search beneath his disturbing thoughts and feelings to find his true self. He adopted as navigational guides the dharmic imperatives of ancient Indian philosophy describing the inherent qualities of soul.
These verses emerged amidst the poet’s attempt to reconcile his outer life with his newly discovered inner path. Read chronologically, they illuminate both his spiritual awakening and his passionate physical surrender to abiding love. While the book came about over a span of forty years, the shifts that its pages ignite in the reader, enriched by Noël Hudson’s compelling art, can be immediate.

Endorsements: “This work reflects a lifetime of introspection and spiritual observation by a man willing to listen and be vulnerable to the tugs of the heart, the whispering of the spirit, and the directives of his soul.” —Rudy Anderson, Early Childhood Specialist “Each poem makes spirit’s presence more palpable and invites soulful contemplations that enhance self-reflection.” —Jamie Pitts, Co-Founder of GreatAuPair “Hudson’s collages are beautifully edited glimpses, embodied moments, flashes of memory, time, place, and sensory perception. They are intense yet delicate; expansive yet contained; grand yet small. These truly are . . . gems.” —Cynthia Sánchez, PhD Director, Capitol Art Foundation Curator, Capitol Art Collection |
